I began composing Eluvio, for string quartet, a week prior to the day the levees failed flooding New Orleans and three generations of my families' homes. The only moment's reprieve from the profound sense of loss that enveloped my life during the months following Katrina was the construction of my mind's innerlandscape via Eluvio.
